1. The firmware is the same as 1.38 and 1.42. It cannot be upgraded. If you click Upgrade, the firmware will lock the machine and only the software can be upgraded. The new version is compatible with firmware versions 1.38 and 1.42.

2. If you bought 1.38 before, you can buy a 1.42 dongle + software upgrade, install the new 1.42 software and plug in the dongle to use it.

3. 1.42 software supports more models than 1.38 software and requires more licenses.

4. The dongle can only be used with version 1.42. It can also be used after upgrading version 1.38 to version 1.42
